Hi! I’m Alex!

Yoga & Movement Facilitator
Pre - Postnatal Specialist, Birth Support Doula

My journey into birth support and perinatal movement began long before I officially made it my career. With over a decade in hospitality management, I took a leap of faith in 2017 to follow my passion for yoga and never looked back. But it was the birth of my son in 2020—during the height of the pandemic—that truly deepened my purpose. I felt a profound calling to support mothers in ways that extend beyond the yoga mat and into the birth room.

I am a certified Birth Doula (Motherwit), certified Body Ready Method® professional (Lindsey McCoy) and one of only three LYT® Method Yoga teachers in Quebec. My background includes over 500 hours of training with leaders in functional movement, biomechanics, and perinatal support, including Lara Heimann (LYT® Method), Deb Flashenberg (Prenatal Yoga Center), Cecily Milne (Yoga Detour®), Mat Phippen and Kate Gillespie (Movement Method).

In my classes and birth support work, I integrate functional movement, strength training, and evidence-based techniques to help people move better, feel better, and prepare for the physical demands of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. Whether in a yoga class or a birth setting, my goal is to help you feel empowered, informed, and deeply connected to your body.

Pregnancy and postpartum bring constant changes, but movement is a powerful tool for navigating them with confidence. Through targeted practices, breathwork, and labour preparation, I support birthing people in feeling strong, capable, and ready—whether that’s for an active labour, a smoother recovery, or simply the day-to-day realities of new parenthood.

My work is rooted in community and connection because no one should have to navigate this journey alone. Whether you're stepping onto the mat, preparing for birth, or adjusting to life postpartum, I’m here to guide, support, and move with you.

My approach

Blending yoga, functional movement, and labour-tested techniques, I want to empower mothers through every phase of their journey – because I believe that everyone deserves to feel strong, prepared, and never alone.

The Path That Led Me to Doula Work

The birth of my son, Leo, in 2020 was a profound turning point in my life. It happened during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a time marked by uncertainty, isolation, and change. Like many new parents, I had envisioned one version of birth, only to be met with something entirely different. What unfolded was challenging in ways I couldn’t have anticipated, yet it ultimately opened the door to deep reflection, healing, and transformation.

In the weeks and months that followed, I began to understand that birth, much like parenthood, doesn’t always go as planned—but it always carries meaning. My experience taught me about surrender, resilience, and the strength that emerges when we allow ourselves to be supported. It also deepened my appreciation for the full spectrum of birth experiences, from unmedicated to highly medicalized, each carrying its own kind of beauty and power.

What I once saw as a breaking point eventually revealed itself as a moment of rebirth—one that called me toward the work I now do. Looking back, I can see how that experience was the beginning of my calling. It shaped how I show up for others: with compassion, empathy, and respect for every person’s story. It reminded me that birth is not only a physical process but an emotional, spiritual, and deeply human one.

Today, I bring this understanding into every space I hold—as a doula, yoga teacher, and mother. I hope that the families I support feel seen, informed, and empowered, no matter how their journey unfolds.
